He began competitive swimming with South Bay Aquatics at the age of eleven and continued his swimming career with the St. Augustine High School Swim team. He also participated in the Silver Strand Junior Lifeguard program for five years; two as a Junior guard and three as a Lifeguard aide. He loves swimming, surfing, and body surfing. When he is not in the water he enjoys reading, playing chess, and relaxing with his friends. He began teaching swim lessons because he enjoys teaching people something that has brought so much excitement into his life. His favorite thing to teach is a skillful freestyle and slick dive. If you're looking for Coach Luis just look for the guy with the beautiful butterfly stroke and the crisp rubber duckie shorts.
