The Blue Water Swim Team is a 9 month program running from February through November and is designed for intermediate-advanced swimmers who have an interest in learning and training for the sport of competetive swimming in a non-competetive environment. Our program focuses on developing and refining the four competetive strokes: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breakstroke, and Butterfly, competetive starts, turns, steamlines, race and practice strategies, and building endurance. Each participant will receive personalized stroke instruction, race experience, and a Blue Water T-shirt. The Blue Water Swim Team program occassionally includes guest lectures addressing motivation, goal-setting, nutrition, training strategies, and other various subjects, as well as, observing high school varsity and junior varsity swim athletes in action during live swim meets. All Blue Water Swim Instructors are certified, experienced, well trained, and will do their best to accomodate each individual swimmer and their needs.
The Blue Water Swim Team is co-ed, open to ages 8 - 16 years old, and for swimmers of appropriate skill level who are deep water safe. Participants must be able to tread for a minimum of 1:00 minute in deep water, as well as, swim 50 yards freestyle without stopping, 25 yards backstroke, and already know one specialty stroke or kick (i.e. Breaststroke or Butterfly). Try outs for new participants are welcome and will be held on Monday and Wednesday afternoons between 3:45-4:00pm.
